There is nothing more exciting than having a private tented camp in the Serengeti. Don’t worry as this is not ‘rough’ camping. Your en suite tent has a proper bed and hot showers are easily arranged.

In professional photographic safari to northern Tanzania offers accommodation in the permanent tented camps with solid flooring.

Luxury safaris include specially selected four to five-star tented lodgings where you will have a bedroom, good beds with linen and an en-suite bathroom.

Travelling in a 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof is the classic safari style. The vehicle is fitted with seat belts for each passenger, a 40l fridge with water and a plug point for charging cell phones and cameras.

Our safari vehicles with hatched roof for shade against sunny African wilderness; are extended body with roomy seats for comfortable sitting and stretching out legs. Every guest is accessible to window seat.

Cars are also fitted with fridges, power charge sockets and VHF radio calls for easy and fast communication with base office in Arusha town. A vehicle in only as good as the driver and drivers are excellent.

Each one is custom designed with first aid kits, binoculars, a selection of field guide books supplied by Wild Excursion & Safaris at no additional cost.

Day 1: Arrive Tanzania Arusha City

Welcome to Tanzania – Your preferred destination for photographic safaris! Upon arrival in Tanzania this evening, you will be met by your professional safari guide and transferred to Zawadi House lodge or similar lodge in Arusha Town for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Arusha, Tarangire National Park (BLD)

After breakfast at your lodge, drive to Tarangire National Park, The Tarangire National Park derives its name from the Tarangire River that rises in the highlands of central Tanzania and winds its way through the game sanctuary.

The river irresistibly lures the herds of plains’ migrants from the parched surrounding area to its shrunken – but permanent – brackish waters during the dry season. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Lake Burunge Tented Camp.

Day 3: Full day game drive in Tarangire National Park (BLD)

Tarangire National Park. After breakfast, you will explore Tarangire National Park and the large herds of elephant that reside there. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the park. Dinner and overnight stay is at Lake Burunge Tented camp.

Day 4: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park (BLD)

Your drive takes you to lake Manyara National Park this morning, where you will stop for picnic lunch. Lake Manyara National Park lies in a depressed valley with brown and red cliffs of the escarpment rising strikingly on one side.

Springs rise up from the base of the escarpment, providing a welcome water supply. Game drive en-route to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay is at Karatu Tloma Lodge

Day 5: Half day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park (BLD)

More than 380 species of birds have been recorded in Manyara and include the hadada ibis, saddle-bill stork, Hottentot teal, plover and African pied wagtail. As you game view through the ground water forest, look for the playful velvet monkeys searching for food at the top of the trees. Perfect destination for your Tanzania photographic safari! You will be spending another night at Karatu Tloma Lodge.

Day 6: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park (BLD)

With a picnic lunch, depart for Serengeti via stopping en-route at Olduvai Gorge, the site of Dr. & Mrs. LSB Leakey’s discovery of Zinjanthropus boisei. Here, you will enjoy a short talk from one of the Deputies of Antiquities who will explain to you what has been done and what continues to happen.

After the gorge, you will proceed to your private mobile tented camp. Settle into your camp before heading out for an afternoon of game viewing. The short grass plains of the Serengeti combined with an abundant source of food in large herds of zebra, wildebeest, impala and buffalo, make the Serengeti an ideal place to spot cheetah on the hunt. Dinner and overnight stay is at Kubu kubu Tented Camp.

Day 7 and 8: Center Serengeti National Park (BLD)

There is nothing more exciting than having a private tented lodge in the Serengeti. Don’t worry as this is not “rough” camping. Your en suite tented room has a proper bed and hot showers are easily arranged. The culinary delights fixed over an open fire rival that of five-star restaurants. And the joyous feeling you get sitting around the campfire star-gazing is unsurpassed. Enjoy a full day of game viewing today. Dinner and overnight at Kubu kubu Tented lodge.

Day 9: Southern Serengeti National Park (BLD)

Another wonderful aspect of private tented lodge is the ability to fix your own schedule. Today, you might want to relax in camp for a while before heading out on a game drive in Ndutu area southern Serengeti.

Day 10: Southern Serengeti National Park (BLD)

Another wonderful aspect of private tented camping is the ability to fix your own schedule. Today, you might want to relax at the camp for a while before heading out on another full day game drive.

Day 11: Southern Serengeti – Ngorongoro conservation area (BLD)

Your drive this morning takes you to morning game drive in Serengeti National Park and you will have your picnic lunch inside the park before continue to Ngorongoro Crater for the night. Dinner and overnight stay is at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge.

Day 12: Full day game drive in Ngorongoro Crater area (BLD)

Professor B. Grzimek once wrote about Ngorongoro Crater: “It is impossible to give a fair description of the size and beauty of the Crater, for there is nothing with it can compare.”

As you descend to the floor of the crater, you will quickly agree with the Professor. Grazers like zebras and wildebeest dominate the landscape, but giraffes are notably absent as there is insufficient food to support them. Enjoy a full morning game viewing on the crater’s floor. Dinner and overnight stay is at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge.

Day 13: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha (BL)

Drive to Arusha this morning where you will arrive for lunch, spend the afternoon at leisure and enjoy an optional shopping in Arusha town before proceeding to Zawadi House Lodge for day use room, in the evening you will be transfered to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight back home.
